Connect NameSilo

This guide walks you through connecting your NameSilo account to Domain Pilot so you can manage all your NameSilo domains from a single dashboard.

Step 1: Generate an API Key

1. Log in to your NameSilo account

2. In the left navigation, click API Manager near the bottom

   

3. Leave Generate key for read-only access unchecked

4. Accept the terms of use and click Generate

   

Note: A read-only key can't change anything, so you won't be able to edit DNS records from Domain Pilot. Leave read-only access unchecked unless that's what you want.

Step 2: Copy the Key

NameSilo shows the API key only once. Copy it straight away and make sure it's on your clipboard before leaving the page.

If you lose it, generate a new key in API Manager.

Step 3: Connect in Domain Pilot

1. Log in to Domain Pilot
2. Click Registrars in the sidebar, then click Add Registrar
3. Select NameSilo
4. Paste your key into API Key
5. Click Test Connection

Verifying the Connection

Domain Pilot imports your domains as soon as the connection test succeeds and shows how many it found. Click View My Domains to see them on the Domains page.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid API Key" Error

• Ensure the API key was copied correctly without extra spaces
• Check that the key has not been replaced by a newer one in API Manager
• Generate a new API key if the issue persists

Can't Edit DNS Records

• Your key was probably generated with read-only access
• Generate a new key in API Manager with read-only access unchecked, then update it in Domain Pilot
