  • Down and back up

    An incident opens when a second region confirms the outage, with the cause and region, and closes itself with how long it lasted.

  • Expiring and expired domains

    Reminders 90 to 1 day out, an extra warning when auto-renew is off, and a daily alert once a domain has lapsed.

  • SSL certificates

    A daily reminder from 30 days before a certificate expires, and an alert if it does.

  • DNS changes

    Nameserver, A, AAAA and MX records are compared hourly against public resolvers. Changed nameservers are flagged as critical.

  • Parked or hijacked

    If a site turns into a parking page, a “coming soon” page or looks hijacked, you hear about it and its monitoring is set aside.

  • Flapping

    Three outages within an hour switch the domain to one hourly digest, so a shaky host doesn’t bury you in alerts.

Which channels can alerts go to?

Email, Slack, push notifications on the Domain Pilot iOS app, and browser notifications. Email and push are on every plan; Slack is on Starter and up.

How do I connect Slack?

Click Add to Slack, sign in to your workspace and choose the channel. Pasting a Slack incoming webhook URL works too.

Can I choose which alerts go where?

Yes. Turn email, Slack and push on or off separately for uptime alerts, expiring domains, expired domains, expiring SSL certificates and DNS changes.

Will I get an alert for every blip?

No. An outage has to be confirmed from a second region before anyone is alerted, and a domain that goes down three times in an hour switches to an hourly digest.

Do you support SMS or webhooks?

Not today. Alerts go to email, Slack, push and the browser.
